The Challenge: To update and upgrade a 1920 brick Georgian to fit today’s lifestyle within the existing footprint and optimize views of the lake from all the living spaces without changing the character of the home’s exterior.

The Plan: First Floor- To replace the dining room with a new kitchen. Remove a center dividing wall to allow open space between kitchen, dining space, family room & sitting room.

Second Floor- Relocate the master suite and bath into the east wing for optimal lake views, vault the master ceiling into the unused attic space.

Replace roof, mechanical systems, windows throughout the home and install radiant heat for energy efficiency.

The Result: The exterior of this classic traditional has minimal changes from the street. The interior living spaces have been completely reorganized in a transitional style to make the home elegant, sophisticated, yet comfortably casual for large or small gatherings.
