Handcrafted Book Nook Donated to Evanston

A gift for children and adults- Benvenuti and Stein handcrafted a book nook for the Evanston Rebuilding Warehouse Wrecking Ball fundraiser last month. The winning bidder, Kathleen Skoller gifted it to the city of Evanston and it was installed at Bent Park.

Inspired by the designs of Frank Lloyd Wright, the structure was crafted in the company’s cabinetry shop in Evanston,  took between 80 and 100 hours to make and as company owner Geno Benvenuti chuckled- “It was a labor of love, not a money maker”. The book nook is constructed with African Mahogany & Red Grandis with natural, dye & stained finishing processes. It is glued joinery construction with no nails or screws and has solar lights built in for night time.

We hope the book nook helps bring reading pleasure to many.
