North Shore Home Remodel Process

1 / 36

The challenge of this North Shore Home Remodel was to update and upgrade this 1920’s brick Georgian  to fit today’s lifestyle within the existing footprint. The client did not want to change the character of the home’s exterior.  We were given free reign on the interior.  Replace all mechanical systems, remove and reinstall roof, replace all windows, and make the home energy efficient.  Take advantage of the views of the lake and east exposure from all the living spaces. See the entire process with our photos.

The  formal dining room was eliminated and the kitchen was relocated  in its space. The dining space and open family room were incorporated into one large open plan. We opened the sitting space to the new kitchen and dining area to take advantage of the natural light; replaced all the windows in the home for energy efficiency.

The master suite of this North Shore home remodel was relocated into the east wing to also have the views of the lake. We vaulted the master bedroom ceiling into unused attic space, and installed a glass railed deck over the sun room below to take advantage of the view.

We removed all the radiators and installed radiant heat under all floors to enhance the open plan goal and to also contribute to energy efficiency.

The interior living spaces were completely reorganized in a transitional style to make the home elegant, sophisticated, yet comfortably casual for large or small gatherings.
